1. Purpose
This specification defines the conditions that a Learner must satisfy to be recognized as having completed and graduated from the Course.
Graduation requires the Learner to satisfy all mandatory criteria below.
2. Completion Criteria
Criterion 1: Product Completion & Quality
The Learner must:
- Complete at least 6 out of 12 Products assigned in the Course.
- Each completed Product must achieve a score of at least 80/100 according to the Course's Product Assessment Rubric.
- Each selected Product must contain at least 3 versions, demonstrating an iterative improvement process:
- Version 1: Initial Product
- Version 2: Improved Product
- Version 3: Further Improved Product
- The final submitted version must achieve the required minimum score of 80/100.
A Product is considered Completed only when all of the above conditions are satisfied.
Criterion 2: Reflection Completion
The Learner must complete at least 12 Reflections, corresponding to the 12 core learning sessions of the Course.
Each Reflection must:
- Be submitted through the designated Reflection Experience.
- Address the required reflection prompts.
- Meet the minimum completion requirements defined by the Course.
- Be associated with the corresponding learning session or learning experience.
Criterion 3: Product Showcase
The Learner must participate in the Final Product Showcase.
Participation requires the Learner to:
- Present at least one completed Product.
- Explain the Product, the problem it addresses, and the process used to create it.
- Respond to questions or feedback from the audience, mentor, or evaluator.
- Complete the Showcase activity as defined by the Course.
The Product Showcase is a mandatory graduation requirement and cannot be replaced by Product completion alone.
Criterion 4: Final Assessment
The Learner must complete the Final Assessment Test.
The Learner must achieve a minimum score of 80/100.
The final assessment may evaluate the knowledge, skills, competencies, and/or capabilities defined in the Course Learning Outcomes.
3. Graduation Rule
A Learner is recognized as Graduated only when all four mandatory criteria have been satisfied:
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Products completed | ≥ 6 / 12 |
| Product score | ≥ 80 / 100 |
| Product iterations | ≥ 3 versions / Product |
| Reflections | ≥ 12 |
| Final Product Showcase | Participated |
| Final Assessment | ≥ 80 / 100 |
Failure to satisfy any mandatory criterion means the Learner has not yet graduated.
4. Completion Status
The system should calculate the Learner's status automatically:
In Progress. The Learner has started the Course but has not yet satisfied all completion criteria.
Completed. The Learner has satisfied all required Course Completion Criteria.
Graduated. The Learner has satisfied all Completion Criteria and all Graduation Requirements, including the Final Product Showcase and Final Assessment.
Not Yet Graduated. The Learner has completed a substantial portion of the Course but one or more mandatory graduation requirements remain unmet.
5. Evidence of Completion
The system must maintain sufficient evidence to verify each graduation requirement. Examples include:
- Product submissions and versions
- Product assessment scores
- Reflection submissions
- Session participation records
- Product Showcase participation record
- Final Assessment result
Graduation should therefore be determined from evidence, rather than simply from attendance or percentage of content consumed.
6. Graduation Decision
The final Graduation Decision is determined by the Course's Completion & Graduation Specification and the evidence recorded in the system.
When all mandatory criteria are satisfied:
Learner Status → GRADUATEDThe system may then issue the corresponding certificate, badge, credential, or other recognition defined by the Course.
